Your right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges
Effective Date: January 1, 2022
Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, healthcare providers and facilities are required to provide uninsured and self-pay individuals with a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges for scheduled healthcare services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
This applies to you if:
Individual Therapy Session (50 minutes): $250 per session
Couples Therapy Session (50 minutes): $250 per session
Initial Consultation (20 minutes): Free
The total cost of therapy depends on your individual needs and goals. Here are typical scenarios:
Short-term focused work (8-12 sessions):
Medium-term therapy (3-6 months, 12-24 sessions):
Longer-term therapy (6-12 months, 24-48 sessions):
Important Note: These are estimates only. The actual number of sessions you need will be discussed and determined collaboratively based on your unique situation, goals, and progress. You are in control of how many sessions you attend.
Extended Sessions (80 minutes): $375 (available by arrangement)
Late Cancellation/No Show: Full session fee may apply if less than 24 hours notice
Phone Consultations Beyond Initial Free Consultation: Prorated at standard session rate
You can ask for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment. I will provide this within 3 business days of your request, or 1 business day if your appointment is within 3-9 business days.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. You have 120 calendar days from the date you receive the bill to start the dispute resolution process.

Insurance: I am in-network with select insurance plans. If you choose to use insurance, your actual cost will depend on your specific plan, deductible, and copay. I can provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement.
Sliding Scale: A limited number of reduced-fee spots are available for those experiencing financial hardship. Please ask during our initial consultation.
